Make Your Face Soft Again
For a very long time I had been dealing with my skin and how unhappy I felt with it. My body was dry and rough while my face was oily with random tiny pimples. I had to combat these issues pronto so I got to work and found several ways in which I could solve the issue. On this post I will share with you my go to face products. This is a continuation of my favorites when back in November I posted about my top 3 most used lip products.
How I made my face super soft
Invest in this magical apparatus that is the Clarisonic. The model I own is called Mia 2 and it has made wonders to my skin. It is essentially a skincare brush with two speeds that removes the impurities, dirt, makeup residue etc, left behind when we simply use our hands to wash our face.
It claims to cleanse six times better and I would have to agree. Ever since I began using the Clarisonic, the texture of my skin improved so much for it is now ten times softer and smoother. The pores on my cheeks have diminished greatly and although I still get tiny pimples here and there (at times due to my diet) they have become less and less each time. I am hoping eventually I will stop getting pimples all together *fingers crossed*.
The hefty price tag of $150 may be a deal breaker which is why I didn't get it sooner, but believe me that it will be one of the best investments you have ever made for your skin.
My Skin Care Routine (Daily Edition)
1. Apply a couple squirts to the Clarisonic's brush head, of a daily cleanser for sensitive skin or with all natural ingredients that will not strip your skin from its natural oils. I love alternating between the Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser and the Éminence Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser (only found in Spas; I got mine from Pretty Please Spa in NYC) I have gotten fabulous results from each.
Aveeno Positively Radiant brightening Cleanser- $6 - $8 depending on where you get it. I got mine at Rite Aid. It is gentle, yet effective.
Éminence Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser- $43.55 (a bit hefty but you get 8.4 oz of product while you truly just need the tiniest amount each time because it is made with all natural, organic ingredients that are heavily concentrated). I bought mine May 10, 2014 and have only used a little bit more than half the bottle.
2. Once you are done washing your face follow with a moisturizer. I am currently using Nadinola Skin Discoloration Fade Cream and Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil.
- Nadinola Skin Discoloration Fade Cream- $6 - $9 depending on the store. This product is meant to fade dark marks left by acne, sun spots etc. It is AMAZING. It really works so well and super fast. I see results within a couple of days as the dark blemishes noticeably fade away. When I get a pimple, a dark blemish is left behind so I always apply this cream on the dark spot (at times throughout my entire face, for an even skin tone). I've also noticed my skin becoming softer each time I use this.
- Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil Roller- $26 this oil is ideal for oily skin because with its pure natural ingredients it will thoroughly hydrate the skin without clogging it. Oily skin also needs moisture for if it doesn't it will consequently produce even more oil (sebum). This product will help your skin find the balance it needs so that it stops producing excess oil. I am not fond of the smell, but it gets the job done.
With continuous use of these products or similar ones, I am sure the skin on your face will improve its texture while becoming noticeably softer and smoother. I find the trick is to manage gentle daily exfoliation to remove any dead skin cells as well as maintaining your pores clear from any impurities.
I hope these tips and tricks help you reach your skin care goals, my friends.
Have you ever tried any of these products or heard of them? Let me know if you'll give them a try :) and how they worked for you :)
