Everyone loves to shop and what better excuse to go totally overboard than during thanksgiving and christmas time? When the holidays are near, we begin re-decorating the house, making it feel special, different and getting it ready for guests. I really love this time of year for the emphasis that is put on decor. Many of us begin worrying about that months in advance, conducting deep cleanings, changing up the curtains, bedding, switching up decor items etc.

To be honest, at my household we have not done some much needed redecorating in ages... well, ok, two years. We have kept things relatively exact, but swapping some small accessories here and there. This year? I am encouraging myself to be more proactive by giving the home a little makeover and I am so ready to get started on my thanksgiving and christmas home makeover shopping. So here are my top 11 stores for home decor, in no particular order:

One Kings Lane- Decor items, furniture, kitchen & dining; everything from modern to vintage (flash sales store) Items may be out of stock soon plus they are part of what they call an "event" so once that event is over the items may be too.

Restoration Hardware- I think this has got to be my absolute favorite because all the pieces sold there are in the style of classic chic, light, cream colors, shabby with vintage yet modern at the same time. The decor is exquisite and different in all aspects. The prices can be steep but the items are so well worth the hefty price tag. One of a kind pieces! (Includes a baby & Child shop too)

West Elm- Offers a wide variety of things to cater to all styles.

Ethan Allen- Livable Luxury great design pieces to showcase at home.

Pottery Barn- Great selection for all decorating styles. Includes a shop for baby, kids and teens.

Minted- You will be able to find art work from independent artists. I love stores that help the community. The site offers a great selection with great quality of work.

The Land of Nod- If you happen to have a little one at home you will spend hours on this site which specializes on all things children: furniture, bedding and accessories and the occasional toy and game.

Lulu & Georgia- I have recently discovered this shop and I am loving it. Loads of electric, classic and modern pieces to choose from.

My Habit- If you're looking for great things at a low or reduced price this is the store for you!

Frontgate- Their catch phrase is "Outfitting America's finest homes since 1991" so you should already have a clue of what you'll find there :D

Wayfair- Includes many different options and styles to choose from plus the prices are unbeatable.

Williams Sonoma- All things dining and kitchen. Large selection of quality items.

Sur La Table- All things kitchen and dining. Large selection.
